Imam and Director of the Manassas Mosque

Abolfazl Nahidian came to the U.S. in May of 1959 to continue his engineering degree at Howard University.  He also received an Associate Degree in Applied Science from NOVA.

While studying, he was active on campus in establishing MSA organizations. In 1972, he was the founder of the Muslims House in Washington, DC where many scholars presented commentaries on the Holy Quran for youths and adults.  He helped establish Islamic classes for children known as the Islamic Community School in the Muslim House.  In 1982 he helped to establish and served as the Director of the Islamic Education Center in Potomac, Maryland.

In 1994 he founded and presently serves as Imam and Director of the Manassas Mosque.  In 1998 he was elected as a Board Member of the World Assembly of Ahlul Bayt Organization.  He is one of the founding forces in creating the Muslim Community School and served on it as a Board of Director.  He also serves as a Board Member of the Coordinating Council of Muslim Organizations (CCMO).

Imam Nahidian is active in Interfaith Dialog sessions with many churches in the metropolitan area.  He is an active participant in religious discussion sessions and classes for children for learning Arabic and studying the Deen of Islam. He has a family of nine children and currently ten grandchildren.  He asks Allah to accept his efforts in whatever he does to be pleasing to Him.
